Jonathan Colp - Head Coach
I am from Fort Macleod, and I am starting my third year of business management at University of Lethbridge in September. I have been in the Army Reserves for almost two years and working toward the rank or corporal. I have been swimming for 7 years, including competing at Lifesaving Sport nationals for 2 years. My favourite swimming memory is the year I transitioned to specializing in distance freestyle, I set new personal bests in almost every event at every meet that season. My favourite food is cookie dough ice cream. My favourite movies are The Martian, and The Big Short.

Swimming has been a fairly large part of my life for a long time. I swam competitively when I was young. I ended up taking time off to focus on basketball, but continued swimming in my spare time with my brother.

I began coaching in 2019 with Spartans. Unfortunately, my season was cut short due to COVID lockdowns, but I am very excited to be back! I also have a lot of experience as a lifeguard ad head lifeguard at Westminster Outdoor Pool.

Currently, I am in my third year of the Bachelor of Nursing program at the University of Lethbridge. I’m interested in potentially working in the NICU, Medically Assisted Detox, or Psychiatry. Much of my time is used up for studying or Clinical. However, when I have some free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends, going to the gym, baking, and of course swimming!

I look forward to an awesome season with Spartans Aquatics Club!

Swimming has always been a part of my life! I can’t remember a summer that hasn’t been spent mostly in a pool. I have a couple years of experience coaching under my belt as a head coach for a summer team in my hometown. Currently I am also a kinesiology student at the university of Lethbridge.

I love swimming because it is a very beautiful sport. It makes you feel very free and gives you an amazing group of people you get to spend every day with!

I have been coaching swimming for about 3 years. I started when I was still swimming with Spartans club!

I am in my second year of college here in Lethbridge and I love to be outdoors and spend time with my family and friends!
